-Employee Representation and Industrial Relations: The Trade Unions Act primarily governs the activities of trade unions in Nigeria. The Trade Unions Act makes recognition of registered trade unions obligatory for an employer. In relation to collective bargaining, the Trade Unions Act provides that all registered trade unions with members in the employment of an employer shall constitute an electoral college so as to elect members who will represent their unions in negotiations with the employer.
