 Enforcing laws to protect intellectual property rights

 Implementing local content requirements in the oil and gas and information and telecommunications sectors

Enacting the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act of 2010 to give preference to Nigerian goods and services

Establishing the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to issue guidelines for Nigerian content development in the ICT sector

Encouraging open and competitive bidding processes for government procurement

Addressing corruption through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC)
