As a beginner in bricklaying, you'll typically need a few basic tools:

1. Brick trowel: This is a pointed, flat metal blade with a handle. It's used to spread mortar and lay bricks.
2. Spirit level: Essential for ensuring your bricks are laid straight and level.
3. Jointer: Used to finish the mortar joints between bricks, giving them a neat appearance.
4. Mason's hammer: Helps with cutting bricks to size and shaping them.
5. Brick bolster: Used in conjunction with the hammer for cutting bricks.
6. Line and pins: These are used to create straight lines for laying bricks.
7. Mortarboard: A flat board used to hold and mix mortar.
8. Bucket: For carrying mortar and water.

With these tools and some practice, you'll be on your way to mastering bricklaying!
