Here are some of the consequences of defaulting on a mortgage
- Your credit score will likely drop.
- You could be sued for the remaining balance on your loan.
- Your lender will take possession of your home, which could lead to a tax increase.
- You might have to file for bankruptcy.
- It will be harder to buy a new home in the future.
