1. Converting keystrokes into electrical signals
2. Sending these signals to the computer or device
3. The computer interprets the signals as specific characters, commands, or actions

Here's how it happens:

1. You press a key on the keyboard
2. The key activates a switch or sensor underneath, completing a circuit
3. The circuit sends an electrical signal to the keyboard's controller
4. The controller processes the signal and determines which key was pressed
5. The controller sends the corresponding data to the computer or device through a connection (wired or wireless)
6. The computer receives the data and responds accordingly, displaying the character, executing a command, or performing an action
