To ensure public sector GUIs are accessible to all citizens, adhere to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) standards, using clear navigation, simple language, and consistent labeling. Ensure GUIs work with popular screen readers, and allow users to navigate using only their keyboard. Choose accessible color schemes with sufficient contrast, and avoid color-based navigation.

Provide closed captions and transcripts for multimedia content, and ensure GUIs adapt to various devices and screen sizes through responsive design. Conduct usability testing with diverse users, including those with disabilities, and provide an accessibility statement outlining your commitment to accessibility.

Regularly conduct accessibility audits to identify and address issues, and educate staff on accessibility best practices and guidelines. Encourage public feedback on accessibility and respond promptly to concerns. By following these guidelines, public sector GUIs can ensure equal access to information and services for all citizens, including those with disabilities.
