The Nigerian government addresses export-related geopolitical tensions and conflicts in several ways :

1. The Nigeria Working Group on Peacebuilding and Governance is a group of policymakers, military officers, academics, traditional and religious leaders who work to ensure that a diverse array of voices influence the decision-making processes in Nigeria.

2. The Network of Nigerian Facilitators (NNF) is a group of professional peace mediators trained by USIP to resolve local conflicts through nonviolent means.

3. The Strengthening State Governments and Peacebuilding Institutions program supports governors and state peacebuilding institutions in establishing inclusive, cooperative strategies to prevent and resolve violent conflicts.

4. The Justice and Security Dialogue project allows citizens at the local level to work together to identify security challenges specific to their communities.

5. The Providing Security Policy Options to Nigerian Policymakers program researches governance and security to inform Nigerian policymakers’ responses to growing challenges in a complex regional environment.
