How does an aircraft generate lift?

Aircraft generate lift through the following process ¹:
- *Newton's Laws:* The wing of the plane diverts air down, generating lift by the principle of equal and opposite reactions.
- *Downward Velocity:* The lift of a wing is proportional to the amount of air diverted down times the downward velocity of that air.
- *Angle of Attack:* The primary parameter in determining lift is the angle of attack, which is the angle of the wing in relation to the oncoming air.
- *Viscosity:* The tendency of fluids to follow a curved surface is known as the Coanda effect.
- *Power:* Lift requires power, which is the work, or energy, per unit time.
